Your child at the heart of learning in Sunderland
Barnes Infant Academy is a thriving Sunderland infant school, loved by generations of pupils and parents

Our high quality education builds on the foundations you have put into your child’s development to give them the best start in life. Daily praise and encouragement with expectations of achievement and good behaviour help children flourish and enjoy their time here.

With strong links to the local community of High Barnes, our school is a happy, stimulating and friendly place where children find learning fun, matched to their ability. We encourage active support from parents, carers and alumni (Friends of Barnes) alongside our team of enthusiastic staff and governors who work together to ensure pupils thrive and reach their full potential.

We consistently deliver a healthy educational experience in a safe setting that fosters intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth, inspiring all of us to be ‘Barnes’ Best’.
